  • An intelligent knife that detects cancer in 3 seconds: The world’s first ‘iknife’ which uses an electrical current to vaporize the tissue while cutting through, and separate the healthy tissues and making sure that all of the cancer is removed within 3 seconds.
  • Detroit files for bankruptcy: Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy in US history by setting the stage for a costly court battle with creditors and opening a new chapter in the long struggle to perk up the city that was the cradle of the American auto industry. 
  • Seeking Bharat Ratna for Dhyan Chand: The Union sports ministry has chosen hockey wizard Dhyan Chand as its nominee for the Bharat Ratna over Sachin Tendulkar.

  •  3G tariff war- RCOM has reduced the rate: Reliance Communications (RCOM) unleashed a tariff war in the 3G data section as the company slashed monthly tariff by 50%, offering high-speed mobile internet at half the price of competitors like BhartiAirtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.
  • The Supreme Court has rejected the state government’s curative petition seeking chief minister’s say in the appointment of Lokayukta, as in Karnataka and this is a big shove to Narendra Modi’s Government in Gujarat. 
  • Russian mobile operators stop selling Apple iPhones: According to the Financial Times Report Vimpelcom, one of Russia’s top mobile operators will no longer sell Apple Inc’s iPhone, after similar moves by other mobile companies in Russia.
  • TCS balanced its revenue for a stronger year ahead: The latest quarterly performance of TCS shows that the nation’s largest IT exporter continues to be stronger and fitter at the moment relative to its close peer Infosys and other IT giant to take on the challenges of clouded outlook in global IT outsourcing demand.
  • Nokia Lumia- shipment rises but sales fall: Sales of the Nokia Lumia smartphones has increased by 32% compared to the first quarter to 7.4 million handsets.
  • 2013 has been the year of High Tech glasses: Phrase “high-tech glasses,” probably refers about Google Glass, the smartphone on a headband that Google hopes to offer for sale next year. The truth is, though, that 2013 has been the Year of the High-Tech Glasses.
  • Rupees has fall down to 17 paise against dollar: Due to increased demand for the US currency from importers, the rupee on Friday lost 17 paise to 59.84 against the dollar in early trade at Interbank Foreign Exchange market .
