Michael Schumacher, a Ferrari F1 driver who won the seven championships is now out of coma as told by his family. He has been transferred to Lausanne university hospital in Switzerland, officials there say.
Schumacher was placed in coma after suffering a severe head injury in a skiing accident in the French Alps on 29 December.
He was placed in coma to help reduce swelling in his brain. His family also praised the “excellent job” of medical staff at the hospital in Grenoble, in south-east France.
He will have a team of specialists, and his own private accommodation. He will now be close to his family for further medical treatment on the shores of Lake Geneva.
The condition of the former Ferrari driver is not yet clear and the injury can take months to recover.
