  • 25 June, 1983 was the day when Indian team won the Prudential World Cup in the leadership of Kapil Dev against West Indies. It was a wonderful finish to a tournament where India defeated all the odds with highly determined individual and team performance.

  • Each player awarded Rs.  1 Crore: BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel has declared a cash prize award worth Rs.1 Crore for each member of the Indian team that beat England in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday, 25th June 2013.
  • Little Colorado River: In Arizona State of U.S., Nik Wallenda became the first men who crossed a Grand Canyon-area gorge on a tightrope in less than 23 minutes and made an unbreakable record.
  •  NCERT: Union Tourism Secretary Pervez Dewan has asked the National Council of Education Research and Training to remove a line from the geography text books which claims that tourism has not been encouraged in the north-east part of India for some strategic reasons.
  • Government renews spotlight on polio purge: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has set up an expert group to work out an approach to ensure elimination of wild poliovirus and reduce the risk of emergence and circulation of Vaccine-Derived Polio Virus (VDPV) in the country.
  • Agri-Tech Investors meet: Indian Council of Agricultural Research announced a meet on 18-19 July to promote agro technologies and business incubation services. Presentations are based on Agri Inputs, Crop Production, Horticulture, Agri- Engineering etc.
  • CNG price again hiked by Rs. 2 per kg. Commencing Monday midnight, will add more to the grief of consumers in Delhi and other surrounding townships.
  • India and U.S. on Monday signed a civil nuclear agreement to set a timeline for the operation. U.S. secretary of State John Keryy and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid reviewed several issues on the civil nuclear ties between the two countries.
  • RBI gives more time to commercial sector banks to implement security measures on the cards. Security features includes EVM chip on cards, real time fraud monitoring system, use of PIN, limit on the transaction process.
