New domestic terminal at Chennai airport

The ‘Airport of the Year’ for 2012 for cargo handling, Chennai airport, will have a new domestic terminal which will be operationalised after August 15 as informed by the Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI), V.P. Agrawal, on Wednesday.
Chennai Airport was chosen for the award third consecutive time.

SWIFT to expand its operations in India

Belgium-based financial transaction SMS provider SWIFT is working on to expand its footprint in banking and financial sector of India. It is currently making a partnership with eight leading Indian banks to form a joint company by 2012-end.

The Society for Worldwide Inter-bank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) is basically a non-profit co-operative-based global service provider which handles 15 million messages per day from more than 9,000 banks in over 200 countries. It is currently being used by more than 120 Indian banks.

Rajasthan Government bans Gutkha

The Rajasthan government has decided to ban the production, storage, distribution and sale of gutkha in the state, this ban will come into force after a notification is issued.
