Haryana all set to give “Right to Play”

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Haryana government has come up with a “Right to Play” Act, which will give access to adequate sports facilities to everyone in the state and make it compulsory for children in school to undergo optimum physical activity.

The Act will ensure that the education department sets aside enough time each day during the school hours for children to play at least one sport. Access to sports facilities within school will also be the right of every student.

This concept proposed by the state Sports Director O P Singh, has got in-principle approval from the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
